Everything you need to know about editing your saves.

⚠️ ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS!

Crucial: Before editing, copy your file.rmmzsave to a safe place (like a "Backups" folder). If something goes wrong, you can simply restore the original file.

📂 How do I use the "Open Folder" feature?

Click "Open Game Folder" and select the game's main folder (or the www / save folder).

The editor will list all your save files automatically.
It also reads Items.json and other data to show real item names instead of just IDs!

💾 How does Saving work? (Overwrite)

Web browsers are sandboxed for security. They cannot just "silently overwrite" files on your PC.

Smart Save: When you click Save, we try to open a "Save As" dialog pointing to your original file. You just select it and confirm overwrite.
(If this isn't supported by your browser, it will download the file to your Downloads folder instead).

🔐 My save file fails to load?

This usually means the game developer used custom encryption or a plugin that changes the save format.
Currently, we support standard RMMZ and MV formats.
